A Typical Tour Itinerary
A typical wildlife tour in Yellowstone begins 45 minutes before sunrise in Gardiner, MT. We will pick you up at your lodging or desired location and head into the park with the goal of reaching Lamar Valley at first light. This timing provides the best opportunity to view a variety of Yellowstone's animals, including grizzly and black bears, wolves, elk, bison, moose, pronghorn, and more. We will spend the morning scouting for wildlife until the activity begins to wane, usually around noon. As the herds settle down for the afternoon, we will visit Cooke City for a lunch break. Following lunch, we will continue our afternoon scouting, seeking additional wildlife opportunities until sunset. Once the light is too low for capturing wildlife, we will return to Gardiner and drop you off at your lodging destination.
Prerequisites: This workshop is suitable for photographers of all levels, from beginners to advanced, with a passion for wildlife photography. Participants should have a basic familiarity with their camera equipment.
